The Team

GL Camps’ coaches are a dynamic and fun team, full of experience and enthusiasm. With a zest for rowing and a flair for fun, we can’t wait to meet you all. Our experience inspires excellence, and our humor sets the tone so that every rowing session will be a challenge and a delight!

Gillian Lindsay,
GLC Founder

Gillian loves to coach on and off the water, she thrives on sharing all she knows about how to make boats go faster. During her career she has learned a lot about what worked best for her, and how to transfer that into effective rowing. Her successful coaching career has secured 40+ national and international medals including National Schools’ Regatta and National Championships. She has helped athletes race for Great Britain at the Junior World Rowing Championships and the European Championships too. She still competes, mostly at the Head of the Charles in the US (where she has won that title 6 times). She also holds the UK Concept 2 indoor rowing record for 60 mins (for her age!).

Will
Hetherington

Will, formerly a full-time rower at Molesey Boat Club, transitioned into coaching juniors and university students. He co-developed Wimbledon High School's rowing program with Gillian Lindsay, fostering a love for the sport with a fun approach. Will is a certified yoga teacher and a wannabe surf dude too. Currently Will leads Fulham Reach's junior rowing program, and is committed to coaching a holistic and body-aware coaching style.

Karen
Bennet

Karen is an Olympic silver medalist and has been to 2 Olympic Games. She’s been on the British Rowing Team for 9 years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience of rowing and being an athlete. Karen is also an online coach and is passionate about helping people achieve their health and fitness goals. She is always looking to inspire the next generation and encourage anyone to be active and enjoy all that comes with it. In her spare time she loves to go travelling and exploring new walks with her cocker spaniel pup.

Luke
Reiser

Luke, currently a dedicated coach at Wimbledon High School, has been passionate about rowing for over 15 years. When not coaching, he enjoys cycling, running, surfing, and resting. He started rowing at 11 with Dart Totnes ARC in Devon and progressed to the top of the national scene with Reading University, then Leander Club. Presently, Luke sweeps with Molesey BC's Henley Royal Campaign. His coaching highlight was leading a talented squad of girls through the 2022-2023 season, culminating in a WJ15 8+ gold at the National Schools’ Regatta.

Sasha
Adwani

Sasha is a former cox at Headington, Newcastle University, and Molesey Boat Club, and she’s proudly represented Great Britain at both Junior and U23 levels! Now, she’s bringing her passion for rowing to life as a coach at LEH and a mentor for The Winning Cox, where she loves helping young rowers build their skills and confidence both on and off the water. Outside of rowing, Sasha is a physiotherapist and a medical student, so she knows how to keep athletes happy and healthy! When she’s not coaching or studying, you can find her running, doing Pilates, or off on an adventure in search of sunshine and sandy beaches.

Gabby
Rodriguez

Gabby, a University of Bath alumni , represented England and GB in European Universities rowing. As Deputy Captain at Molesey Boat Club, she won multiple Henley Women's titles and raced at Henley Royal Regatta. With extensive coaching experience at Wimbledon High School and Molesey Boat Club, she now guides and coaches Surbiton High School - one of GB’s top rowing schools. In her spare time, Gabby is a cross fit demon, loves her coffee and turns up to every coaching session like a ray of sunshine!

Erin
Herschel

Erin, originally from South Africa, has been a dedicated rower since 2013. Her passion for the sport flourished through her school and university years, leading to remarkable opportunities, including her role as President of University Rowing South Africa. Erin is committed to making rowing both enjoyable and goal-oriented, skillfully blending the joy of the sport with the dedication required to achieve personal objectives.

Chris
Rae

Current Head Coach of University of Glasgow Chris brings fun, laughter and happiness to the water. He is the big brother we all need in our lives! Rowing brought Chris to London, away from his Scottish roots for several years. During that time, Chris trialled for the GB Olympic Team, won Henley Royal Regatta and eventually decided to embark upon a coaching career. The sport of rowing is lucky to have him help, encourage and nurture on and off the water.

Her development in confidence, resilience, and teamwork, coupled with medal successes, has been a joy to witness.
